Heather Hoover

Attorney /Owner

Heather was interested in law from a young age, even majoring in Pre-Law at Pensacola Christian College and graduating with honors. She graduated from Gonzaga School of Law in 2010 while interning with a local family law practice in Spokane. While she was not originally interested in family law, her initial years of practice kindled a desire to help families in this field. Dissolutions and custody cases are very emotional and difficult for the parties. Parties are often lost without competent representation, and the outcome of a case will affect one’s family for years to come. Ms. Hoover is dedicated to her clients, to their case and to helping them through one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Heather practices in a wide range of family law matters, including but not limited to: dissolution, legal separation, child custody, child support, paternity, and relocations.

Heather is also currently acting as a Pro Tem Commissioner with the Spokane County Superior Court. She has heard many matters ranging from Ex Parte issues to Civil Commitments to family law motions. As such, she has the experience from both sides of the bench to help her clients obtain a favorable result.

When she is not practicing law, Heather enjoys spending the majority of her time with her family. She has three amazing young children that are quickly turning her hair gray.

McKenzie Small

Attorney

McKenzie’s passions for law and desire to become an attorney began at a young age. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with honors with a Degree in History and Political Science. She then attended and graduated Gonzaga School of Law in 2022. While in Law School, McKenzie balanced her studies and worked three jobs as a research assistant, family law legal intern, and mentor to first year law students. During her internship, McKenzie was introduced to the family law practice. She helped navigate broken families through the difficult and complex legal process, and even worked to bring children back together with their parents. Her internship and experience lead McKenzie to a desire to continue in this area of practice and helping families.

As an attorney, McKenzie practices family law, including divorce, child custody, paternity, child support, relocations, and even minor guardianships. Family law matters are often emotionally difficult. At times, it can be hard to navigate the legal process. McKenzie aims to provide clients with legal representation that is compassionate, zealous and client centered.

In her free time, McKenzie loves to read, peruse museums, including local Spokane Museum of Arts and Culture, and listen to live music. She loves to spend time with her close friends, family and cat Millie.
